Dan Whitmeyer has been a part of the Builders’ General family for almost three decades. Starting as yard personnel, enjoying the sunshine and keeping the property clean and well-kept, he moved quickly up to building orders and moving forklifts.

Dan has grown within our departments across the company, inspiring his colleagues in the building shop before heading off to charm customers in the sales department as an assistant manager. With a knack for windows, he has hands-on experience with window units and knows window quoting like the back of his hand.

Dan moved to Little Silver, promoted as an operations manager, but he isn’t just stuck in a stuffy office — he gets to wear all different kinds of hats. Dan loves to look out his door and see what his tried-and-true employees are working on and what new things are happening. Little Silver is a fast-moving operation with eager clientele and staff always happy to pass on their knowledge in true “wingman” fashion.

Dan has loved building his career at Builders’ General. When asked why he loves it, he said, “It’s a great company to work for. You are one of the family, not just a number. The owners’ doors are always open, and there’s something different every day. Customers aren’t just customers; they’re friends. They’ll stop in the morning just to say hello and we love that. Obstacles happen, but the challenges are a part of what makes this job enjoyable.”
